Privacy Policy

The short version: Radical Trainer does not run ads, does not sell personal information, and stores your learning progress on your device. We use privacy-preserving product analytics to understand coarse app usage.

Who we are

Radical Trainer (the "App") is an iPhone learning app published by an independent developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.

Information stored on your device

Lesson progress, best scores, XP, streak day, current lesson position, audio preferences, and daily-reminder preferences are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults. The trainer progress key is chinese-radicals-trainer-progress-v1. You can delete this data by deleting the App or using any reset controls available inside the App.

Optional permissions

• Microphone. Used only when you choose pronunciation practice.
• Speech Recognition. Used with the microphone to check optional Chinese pronunciation.
• Notifications. Used only if you enable a local daily practice reminder.

If you decline a permission, the rest of the App remains usable. You can change permissions later in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple is the merchant of record. We do not receive your credit card number or other payment details. The App only checks whether Apple reports an active entitlement.

Crash diagnostics

If crash reporting is enabled in a release build, Radical Trainer may use Sentry to receive technical crash diagnostics such as app version, device model, iOS version, stack traces, and recent lesson breadcrumbs needed to fix bugs. We do not use this for advertising or user profiling.

Product analytics

Radical Trainer uses TelemetryDeck to understand coarse product usage, such as app launches, lesson starts, lesson completions, retries, and paywall views. Analytics events may include app version, OS version, device model, bundle ID, product interaction data, and TelemetryDeck's anonymous installation or session identifiers.

We use this information only for analytics and product improvement. We do not use it for advertising, do not use it for cross-app tracking, and do not link it to your identity. We do not send names, email addresses, raw microphone audio, speech transcripts, or raw tracing paths to TelemetryDeck.

What we do not do

• We do not show ads.
• We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
• We do not require an account.

Children

Radical Trainer is suitable for younger learners but is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

Because core progress data stays on your device and payments are handled by Apple, most access, correction, and deletion requests are satisfied by the controls on your device. For privacy questions, contact us at the email below.

Changes

If Radical Trainer changes in a way that affects this privacy policy, we will update this page before or when that change ships.
